About the business and the role

With offices in Sydney CBD, South West Sydney & the Hunter Valley, this growing law firm provides quality legal services to clients in a range of areas including Environmental, Local Government and Planning, Family law, Employment law, Commercial law, wills & probate and property matters. The business requires a passionate and dedicated Commercial/General Practice Lawyer with 5 year PAE in their Campbelltown office.

Job tasks and responsibilities

This is an outstanding opportunity for a lawyer to join a dynamic, young, successful law firm with five offices and a team of vibrant, talented, strategic lawyers.

You will act for clients across a variety of industries as well as individuals.  The lawyer in this role must deliver high quality, high value, timely legal advice and legal services for a number of clients. 

The lawyer in this role will lead a small team to provide expert legal advice that is timely, comprehensive, practical and solutions focused and that supports and guides the client overall while covering off actual legal risks and demonstrating an understanding and presentation of strategic and well thought through advice to clients based on legal and commercial risk.

The role will report directly to Partner.

You will need demonstrated experience in:

  • Drafting advice and court documents

  • Providing commercial and general practice legal advise to clients 

  • Attending and participating in conferences and hearings

  • Building and developing  client relationships

  • Developing and managing own file loads

  • Negotiating matters to settlement

  • Drafting and modifying contracts and agreements

  • Keeping the firm up to date on legislative changes that may impact clients and others within the firm

  • Experience using Leap documents & LEAP accounting systems

  • Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and workload while maintaining quality and service levels

  • Excellent communication skills, influencing skills and commercial strategy skills

You must also:

  1. Hold a current New South Wales practising certificate

  2. Have sound experience in Commercial and general practice areas of law

  3. Have strong commercial law skills and experience.

  4. Experience working directly for local or state government agencies will be highly regarded.

  5. Specialist accreditation will be highly regarded.
